Asian values in journalism
Clearly there are differences in the asian and western approaches to journalism. While there may be a broad agreement on fundamentals, the cultural contexts differ. The amic seminar on asian values in journalism, held in kuala lupur, malaysia, from 24-25 august 1995, brought together a group of over 50 journalism practitioners, policy makers, and educators from 14 countries to discuss the issue, and helped to define the views held by a majority of asians, journalists and non-journalists alike, concerning the values that must inform and inspire the region’s media. This book includes a collection of papers presented at the seminar, with contributions from leading practitioners, researchers, and policy makers.
