Erich Brost (1903-1995), founder, editor in-chief and publisher of the Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung, Germany’s largest regional newspaper, lived in Danzig before the second world war, where he was journalist. After the National Socialist took power in 1933 he was part of the resistance and was forced into exile in 1936. In 1945 he began his suc-cessful career in Germany, which led to his becoming one of the most outstanding publishers in Germany. In this book, a Polish and German historian recall Brost’s unique life.
